Lauren Crape shortlisted for Canadian U-19 women’s lacrosse team

March 9: Western lacrosse freshman named to 35-player roster

OTTAWA - Western Mustangs freshman lacrosse player Lauren Crape has been selected to the 35-player shortlist of the Canadian U-19 women's lacrosse team.

The final 18-player national team will be selected in the fall for the U-19 International Lacrosse Federation women's world championships which will take place Aug. 3-13, 2011, in Hannover, Germany.

The Canadian team will look to improve on its fourth-place finish at the 2007 ILF U-19 championships in 2007. The best-ever finish is a bronze medal, earned twice in 2003 and 1999.

The Calgary native was a major factor in Western's run to win the banner, scoring a pair of goals in the Mustangs 9-5 win over Laurier in the OUA Championship in late October.
