Schedules released for Mustangs hockey teams

June 30: Singer looks to take team back to nationals, while rookie women's head coach Higgins eyes post-season

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs men's and women's hockey schedules for the 2010-11 regular season were released by Ontario University Athletics this month and are now available online.

MEN'S HOCKEY SCHEDULE / WOMEN'S HOCKEY SCHEDULE

Both Mustangs teams will play a challenging pre-season exhibition schedule and then open the regular season in October. Western's men will travel to play NCAA powerhouses Michigan, Michigan State and Lake Superior State as well in early October.

The women's home opener is on Friday Oct. 8 against Windsor, while the men will host York on Saturday Oct. 16.

Playoffs begin in mid February, 2011, for both the men and the women.

More schedules will be available for other varsity teams in the coming days.
