LONDON, Ont. - Incoming Western Mustangs varsity wrestler Steven Takahashi of London, Ont., placed second at the Junior Pan American Wrestling Championships in Managua, Nicaragua, July 11.  

Takahashi defeated wrestlers from Ecuador (6-0, 6-0), USA (0-6, 6-0, 2-1) and Venezuela (4-2, 1-3, 4-2) in the 55-kg FS division.  He lost to Dominican Republic in finals (1-4, 0-6).

The Canadian junior men won the overall team title, while the United States finished in second place followed by Venezuela in third.
