New Mustangs get first taste of action against Kentucky

Aug. 16: Western vs. Kentucky, 7 p.m. (St. Denis Centre, Windsor)

LONDON, Ont. - Western's men's basketball team will introduce six new players when the Mustangs travel to Windsor, Ont., to play the NCAA's Kentucky Wildcats at the St. Denis Centre on Monday Aug. 16 at 7 p.m.

Transfers Adam Jespersen of London, Ont., and Luke Braund of Vancouver will add size at the forward spot, while new three freshman guards and a freshman forward will also make their debut. These recruits include guards Andrew Vincent of Timmins, Ont., Quinn Henderson of Dundas, Ont., and Nathan Di Loreto of London, Ont., along with another Londoner and forward Peter Scholtes.

Fans still looking for tickets for the Kentucky game can call 519 253.3000 ext. 2447 until 4:30 p.m. on Friday Aug. 13 or purchase tickets at the door. Please note, there are limited tickets available.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults and youth, $5 for children.

Mustangs head coach Brad Campbell said this year's recruiting class will make Western a strong contender in the OUA West for many years to come.

"It's an outstanding recruiting class," Campbell said. "And it is one of the top recruiting classes in Canada this year."
