THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Keaton Turkiewicz’s lone goal rallied the Western Mustangs 1-0 over the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Fri. Jan 20 in front of 3,735 fans.
 
Mustangs Kevin Baker and Scott Aarssen added assists on the play.
 
Netminder Josh Unice made 27 saves for the shutout while Lakehead’s Alex Dupuis made 21.
 
Western capitalized on one of nine powerplays as they held the Thunderwolves scoreless on eight man-advantage opportunities.
 
With the win, the Mustangs (17-2-2) move four points ahead of Lakehead (16-5-0) for first place in the OUA West.
 
The two teams meet again tomorrow Jan. 21 for a 7:30 p.m. match.
