The Mustangs (7-7) head into this weekend's games having lost back-to-back contests to teams below them in the standings, including last Friday night's 3-0 sweep at the hands of the Windsor Lancers. They'll look to right the ship first against the McMaster Marauders (7-6), who enter the weekend a half game ahead of them in the standings. McMaster has won each of its last four contests, most recently sweeping Guelph 3-0 last Saturday (Jan. 21). In the first meeting between these two teams this season, the Marauders came away with a 3-2 win in Hamilton back on Oct. 22.

Stephanie Kreuter and Kelly Frittenburg continue to lead the way for the Mustangs with 169.5 and 161.0 points, respectively, which ranks 8th and 13th in the OUA. The Marauders are led by the all-around play of Shannon McRobert, who enters the weekend ranked third in the OUA in points (176.5), third in service aces (28), and fifth in blocks (42).

The Lions have lost just eight sets so far this season. Their lone loss came against the Brock Badgers in their first game back from the holiday break. The first time Western and York met this year was in the regular season opener, and the Lions came away with a 3-1 win at home. Brandie Wilkerson, York's top offensive weapon, currently leads the OUA in points per game (4.55) and kills per game (3.87). That latter number also currently ranks third-best in the CIS.
