TORONTO, Ont. (CFL) -
Matt Norman, an offensive lineman for the Western Mustangs, rose to No. 10 in the final edition of the CFL Scouting Bureau's prospect list heading into the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft.
In CIS action last fall, Norman (Châteauguay, Que.) played a big role in helping the Mustangs lead the nation in rushing. For his efforts, the 6-foot-3, 317-pound senior was named an OUA all-star and a First-Team All-Canadian.
Norman is one of four offensive linemen on the list, which also includes five defensive linemen, four receivers, a linebacker and a defensive back.
Boise State defensive end Tyrone Crawford, University of Regina offensive lineman Ben Heenan and Wilfrid Laurier University receiver Shamawd Chambers are the top three ranked prospects heading into the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft, which is scheduled for Thursday, May 3 at 3 p.m. ET (TSN).
Both Heenan and Chambers had solid performances at the CFL Evaluation Camp in early March, helping them remain at the top of the latest scouting bureau ranking. Crawford did not attend the CFL Evaluation Camp but is expected to be selected high in the NFL Draft, which may affect where he is selected in the CFL Draft.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders currently hold the top pick in the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft. For the full draft order,
