Earlier today the Saskatchewan Roughriders announced they have signed Mustangs running back Nathan Riva (LaSalle, Ont.) to a contract. Riva will join the team for rookie camp May 28^th in Regina.

A 2011 OUA Second Team All-Star, Riva averaged nearly six yards per carry during his career at Western, finishing up with 3,080 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns along with 960 receiving yards and nine TD receptions in four seasons and playoffs. His finest season was in 2009 for which he was named an OUA First Team All-Star and CIS Second Team All-Canadian.

Riva won’t be the only former Mustang on the Roughriders roster. Craig Butler is heading into his second season with the Roughriders, after a strong rookie campaign that earned him a place on the West Division All-Star team. Riva’s signing makes him the 12^th former Mustang currently on a CFL roster.
